Genres

Genres are managed via the Genres module.

Like Features, some Genre records cannot be deleted. They are "hard-wired" into the TitleLeaf code because certain values (eg, Fiction) are tied to elements in the ONIX standard (and other wholesaler templates).

As cited in the ingestion templates, the default acceptable genre values are:

• Beginning reader
• Chapter book
• Fiction
• Graphic novel
• Hi-lo
• Leveled reader
• Narrative
• Nonfiction
• Picture book
• Young adult
